The newly constructed interchange provides access to Aurora’s expanding northeastern communities, including the developing areas of Windler, Painted Prairie, and High Point. The project features new on and off ramps and a widened bridge at 48th Avenue, designed to accommodate increasing traffic demands in the region.
The project is part of E-470’s comprehensive improvement plan supporting the development of current and future communities and job growth. The interchange will serve as a vital connection point for the expanding Aerotropolis region. The region is governed by the Aerotropolis Regional Transportation Authority, which oversees transportation and infrastructure improvements. ARTA is made up of Adams County, the City of Aurora, and the Aerotropolis Area Coordinating Metropolitan District.
